Exercise Chesapeake 2018 – French Navy At NAS Oceana VA

Military Aviation Museum VA Air Show 2018
The 2018 Military Aviation Museum air show in Virginia Beach was centered around Warbirds Over the Beach, held May 18–20. It delivered a full weekend of flying vintage aircraft in an authentic WWII‑era setting. The museum showcased some of the rarest airworthy warbirds in the world, including the Bf 109, Hawker Hurricane, de Havilland Mosquito, PBY Catalina, FG‑1D Corsair, and B‑25J Mitchell, all operating from the museum’s grass airfield.

Air Power Over Hampton Roads – JB Langley 18th to 20th May 2018
Air Power Over Hampton Roads 2018 ran from 18–20 May at Joint Base Langley‑Eustis, headlined by the Thunderbirds and the F‑22 Raptor Demo Team. Weather wiped out most of Saturday, but Friday evening and Sunday delivered strong flying, including the Golden Knights and top civilian acts.

The Pax River Air Expo 2018 took place on June 2–3, 2018 at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, celebrating the base’s 75th anniversary. The show featured the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as the headline act, supported by a mix of Navy and Marine Corps aircraft that reflected Pax River’s role as the center of naval aviation testing. Additional performers included Rob Holland, the Shockwave Jet Truck, and the Class of ’45 warbird duo.

The 2018 NAS Oceana Air Show took place on 22–23 September 2018 in Virginia Beach and featured one of the strongest lineups in the show’s history. The Blue Angels and Canadian Forces Snowbirds headlined, joined by the F‑22 Raptor Demo Team, F/A‑18F Super Hornet, and several civilian aerobatic acts.

Royal Navy Carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth Visits Naval Station Norfolk 2018
The Royal Navy’s new flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, arrived at Naval Station Norfolk in mid‑September 2018 during her WESTLANT 18 deployment. The carrier diverted around Hurricane Florence before making port, sailing into Norfolk on 17 September 2018, finally leaving back to the UK on 30th November 2018.
