Exercise Chesapeake 2018 – French Navy At NAS Oceana VA
Chesapeake 2018 was a major joint deployment in April-May 2018 where the French Navy (Marine Nationale) trained with the U.S. Navy at NAS Oceana, Virginia, The exercise involved 12 Rafale M fighters, an E-2C Hawkeye, Initial training was conducted at NAS Oceana and NALF Fentress, followed by at-sea operations on the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77)

The 2018 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show combined top‑tier military demos with aerobatic performers, highlighted by the Blue Angels, the Snowbirds, and Marine Corps assets like the F‑35B, Harrier, and Osprey.

Military Aviation Museum VA Air Show 2018
The 2018 Military Aviation Museum air show in Virginia Beach was centered around Warbirds Over the Beach, held May 18–20. It delivered a full weekend of flying vintage aircraft in an authentic WWII‑era setting. The museum showcased some of the rarest airworthy warbirds in the world, including the Bf 109, Hawker Hurricane, de Havilland Mosquito, PBY Catalina, FG‑1D Corsair, and B‑25J Mitchell, all operating from the museum’s grass airfield.

Air Power Over Hampton Roads – JB Langley 18th to 20th May 2018
Air Power Over Hampton Roads 2018 ran from 18–20 May at Joint Base Langley‑Eustis, headlined by the Thunderbirds and the F‑22 Raptor Demo Team. Weather wiped out most of Saturday, but Friday evening and Sunday delivered strong flying, including the Golden Knights and top civilian acts.

Pax River Expo 2018
NAS Patuxent River MD
The Pax River Air Expo 2018 took place on June 2–3, 2018 at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, celebrating the base’s 75th anniversary. The show featured the U.S. Navy Blue Angels as the headline act, supported by a mix of Navy and Marine Corps aircraft that reflected Pax River’s role as the center of naval aviation testing. Additional performers included Rob Holland, the Shockwave Jet Truck, and the Class of ’45 warbird duo.

The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum highlights the history and test‑flying mission of NAS Patuxent River, featuring Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, simulators, and exhibits focused on research, development, and flight testing.

The Flying Proms Symphonic Air Show 2018
The 2018 Flying Proms at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach took place on June 16 and blended live orchestral music with choreographed vintage‑aircraft flying. Warbirds like the Spitfire and Bf‑109 performed to a full symphonic program, and the evening ended with fireworks in a relaxed, picnic‑style atmosphere.

NAS Oceana Air Show 2018
The 2018 NAS Oceana Air Show took place on 22–23 September 2018 in Virginia Beach and featured one of the strongest lineups in the show’s history. The Blue Angels and Canadian Forces Snowbirds headlined, joined by the F‑22 Raptor Demo Team, F/A‑18F Super Hornet, and several civilian aerobatic acts.

Royal Navy Carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth Visits Naval Station Norfolk 2018
The Royal Navy’s new flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, arrived at Naval Station Norfolk in mid‑September 2018 during her WESTLANT 18 deployment. The carrier diverted around Hurricane Florence before making port, sailing into Norfolk on 17 September 2018, finally leaving back to the UK on 30th November 2018.
From 2020 to the present day, I have begun a new chapter in aviation media reporting with the creation of my own aviation media group, Fly High Aviation Media. This new era builds on the experience and foundation I gained during my earlier years, from 2016 to 2019, when I reported under the French based media group Global Air Power, led by the remarkable Thierry Latimer (RIP). I remain deeply grateful for the time, guidance, and opportunities Thierry gave me. His knowledge, generosity, and kindness left a lasting impact on my work and will stay with me forever. The transition to Fly High Aviation Media allowed me to carry forward the passion Thierry helped shape, while developing my own vision and identity for the platform.
My reporting from 2016 through 2019 was produced under the media group Global Air Power, led by the late French aviation enthusiast Thierry Latimer (RIP). I remain deeply grateful for the time, guidance, and opportunities Thierry gave me. His knowledge, generosity, and kindness left a lasting impact on my work and will stay with me forever. In 2020, I began a new chapter as the owner and operator of Fly High Aviation Media, a role I proudly continue to this day. This transition allowed me to build on the foundation Thierry helped shape, carrying forward the same passion for aviation reporting while developing my own vision for the platform.
